Too Faced Le Grand Chateau Gift Set.  Whitney English Day Designer Agenda.

First of all, today I woke up so excited to draw the winner of the Olivia Palermo x BaubleBar necklace. It’s a stunning piece perfect for holiday events and I’m so looking forward to seeing how you style it. Congratulations to Amy R! Will you send me a photo when you wear it? I’ll be emailing you for your shipping details and it will be on its way to you soon!

Second of all, today is Thanksgiving Day and in honor of this holiday created for appreciation, thankfulness, and gratitude I’m hosting another giveaway to thank my readers. I can’t tell you all how special I feel to have you in my life… I truly love creating content for you and seeing your likes and positive comments shows me you enjoy it too.

I felt so lost in college and law school… I love learning and challenging myself, but I hadn’t found that thing that fed my soul. When I started writing online and making videos in my little bedroom in between law school classes and studying, I never imagined that anyone would read or watch my content… But I kept going because it just felt so incredibly fulfilling to have a creative outlet. And because so many of you were there for me.

Now our community has grown and grown… Some of you have been here since the beginning. And in a weird way, it feels like a little family to me. I never knew there were so many people out there that enjoy the same things I do. People who feel elated when they see a gorgeous bag… Love finding great clothes and accessories on sale… Watch YouTube beauty tutorials while they do laundry… Eat cereal for a month so they can own a pair of shoes they’ve been wishing for… Have pinned way too many home décor and DIY pins on Pinterest.

So thank you for being here; for coming back to this little place of mine. I hope you know what incredible, wonderful people you all are. And if nobody else tells you today… Thank you for being YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS TO BEATRICE H!!!!

Cherry Creek is the perfect destination for a caffeinated work meeting… Or a bit of holiday shopping. It’s such a charming little part of Denver with equal parts retail therapy and delicious cuisine. My favorites are True Food Kitchen and Marg’s Taco Bistro.

And while we’re discussing retail therapy… “Those boots… Are ridiculous.” Despite what my dad thinks, I’m completely addicted to these over-the-knee beauties (which are now on sale) and the way they lengthen the leg and make any outfit look just a bit sexy. I’ve included some similar options down below at different price points.

I adore this tweed jacket and how it perfectly bridges the gap between effortlessly classic and trendy. It begs for a crisp shirt and pearl necklace. And RumbaTime has given my readers an exclusive 20% off coupon code BRITTANYP on any purchase so you can get a watch like mine (or any of their other styles) just in time for your holiday shopping.

Holiday Gift Guide: Mom

November 24, 2015

Categories: Holiday

Bath Set.  Coffee Mug.  Makeup.  Pajamas.  Necklace.  Handbag.

If you get one gift right this holiday season, it needs to be your mother’s. The woman who was there for you every step of the way deserves something special.

What do moms want? Something soft. Something to pamper herself after she does so much for everyone else. Something sentimental. You can find item links below the image above… Then check out more of my picks below in the slide. Click the arrows to scroll through the items and when you find one you like, simply click to see details.

Another gift idea for mom is safe, natural skincare. I recently tried Block Island Organics Night Cream and was impressed with its silky-smooth texture and natural, antioxidant-rich formula. Block Island Organics is a family company owned by majority women in Rhode Island. Their products are organic, vegan-based, and not tested on animals. Block Island’s formulas are free of paragons, sulfates, petrochemicals, phthalates, dyes, and artificial fragrances.

Treat your mom (or yourself) to Block Island Organics natural sunscreen or skincare and take 20% off using code “brittanypillard” from now until Saturday 28, 2015.

This holiday season I’ll be posting about my favorite sales, holiday outfit looks, gift guides, and much more. Don’t want to miss out?? Check out the hashtag #TCGHoliday on Twitter and Instagram. ‘Like’ my Facebook page. Stay notified of new The Cashmere Gypsy posts by entering  your email address in the ‘Subscribe’ box above. And check out the new Holiday tab under the Categories section at the top of my website. So very excited for the posts I have planned this holiday season and I can’t wait to share them all with you!

Hat.  Poncho.  Long-Sleeve Tee.  Jeans.  Similar Boots.  Necklace.  Similar Ring.  Similar Bag.

This outfit is probably the easiest in my closet right now and it’s been worn non-stop. Things have been busy lately – decorating our home, a friend in town for a visit, preparing my holiday posts and videos, and prepping for travel this month. I’ve been so thankful to throw this on and go.

The wide-brim fedora hat is on trend while simultaneously hiding second-day hair. This cozy poncho can be thrown on in a moment’s notice and looks great when worn over this fitted long-sleeve tee I found at Nordstrom last week. And ponchos look great with any kind of boot… Booties, boots, or over the knee boots.

So ready for Thanksgiving…

Dining Room Decor

Dining Room Chandelier Bookshelf

Dining Room Decor Chrome Bookshelf

Dining Room Decor Vintage Books

Dining Room Decor Silk Curtains Topiaries

Dining Room Decor Silver Frames Crystal

Dining Room Decor Tray of Books

Dining Room Decor Mirrored Table

Curtains (I added 2 layers of tassel trim from Hobby Lobby).  Drapery Rods.  Drapery Hardware.  Topiaries.  Chandelier.  Mirrored Dining Table.  Dining Chairs.  Rug.  Gray Lamps from HW Home.  Chrome Bookshelf from HW Home.  Velvet Tuffets from HW Home.  Wedding Painting.  Sheepskin Rug.  Painting Easel.  Vintage Books.  Diptyque Candle.

We’ve been in our home nearly 2 years now, but it’s taken me nearly that long to tackle our decor. Our dining room is the first room you see when you enter our home and it’s bothered me so much to see it so unfinished. I made a list and worked on the items one by one.

I wanted the room to be primarily neutral with pops of bright green and shining chrome. I utilized some of my more modern furniture from L.A. and mixed it with more classic pieces and various textures (velvet, fur, silk, tassels) to create a more comfortable, traditional feel to flow with the rest of our home. It’s not easy to blend different styles of furniture, but by maintaining a mostly neutral palette and mixing textures, the transition can occur more easily.

One of the things I love most about this room are the personal touches. I framed many of the engagement photos we took on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach and I love the bright colors they bring into the room… Each time I look around, I think of that day and how much fun we had. We had a live painter at our wedding reception and his work of art capturing our first dance rests on an easel in the corner as a focal point. Many of the frames and objects in this room were wedding gifts and it makes this space even more special to us.

When I posted about our guest bedroom on my previous blog, I suggested keeping future goals in mind when decorating a room and I mentioned various upgrades I wanted to layer in – a television in the armoire, an accent chair in the corner, luxe-looking curtains, a crystal chandelier. I don’t have many upgrades in mind for this room, but I have been thinking about wall sconces near each topiary and tie-backs for the curtains at the small windows.

Something I found to be a huge help with hanging drapes and installing lighting is the TaskRabbit. If you’ve never heard of it before, get ready, because it will change your life. Need someone to wait for a delivery? Need someone to grab a few groceries for you? Need someone to help you move furniture, even just around your room? TaskRabbit is like a personal assistant in your pocket. You can download the app here.

As a thank you to my readers, TaskRabbit is giving you $20 off your first task using the code CASHMEREGYPSY. The coupon is valid through 1-1-16.

If you’re interested in more decor ideas, check out our guest bathroom… Inspired by the calm, beachy vibes of Palm Beach and featuring framed vintage maps and postcards I found from the area. On my previous website, I featured our relaxed vintage guest bedroom to showcase how decor doesn’t have to break your budget. If you follow me on Snapchat (username brittanypillard) you probably saw the easy upgrades I made to it lately.

White Sweater + Lace Detail

White Sweater Lace Trim Denver Blogger

White Sweater Lace Trim Denver Blogger

“Whirl” Lip Pencil.  “Brave” Lipstick.  Sweater.  Bag.  Leggings.  Similar Boots.

I apologize for all the sweater posts, but it has gotten chilly here in Denver and yours truly needed to add a few more sweaters to her closet since this is my daily go-to look here around Denver. I just add a fur vest or leather jacket when I need some extra warmth.

I couldn’t resist snapping up this sweater when I saw the lace at the back. You know I adore anything cozy and feminine. It’s snuggly and warm, but moves when you move… It isn’t stiff or confining. I usually have difficulty finding sweaters with enough length in the arms, but this one is perfect.

I also found this little treasure online and have been using it to de-fuzz my older sweaters, giving them a fresh new look and a longer lifespan. I even used it on some of our fabric chairs. It works wonders!

Well… We got our first snow here in Denver. And this cozy thermal is perfect for winter days.

I had a bad day yesterday and am so thankful to live in a place where nature is close. There’s something so therapeutic about mountains and pine trees and wide open spaces. We haven’t been on a long hike lately and I’m aching to take the dogs and spend a day in the woods.

How do you deal with stress, anxiety, or sadness? I’ve heard so much about essential oils lately… Have any of you tried these? If so, which are your favorites? I’d love to hear more!

While out shopping for a few family birthdays this month, I spotted this charcoal and white speckled sweater hanging on the rack and ran my hand across it for a “coziness” test… And I instantly started walking up to the counter with it; it is that soft! And with a fur vest added on top, it became warm enough for a walk through the leaves to dinner with my friend. We’re cherishing these crisp fall days since we managed to escape the weather man’s last snow prediction and there’s a new snow storm forecasted for tomorrow. I’m definitely not ready for snow, but I wouldn’t mind a “snow day” with an excuse to stay in PJ’s and watch Netflix. (Any great shows or documentaries you’ve been watching lately?)

I’ve been extra busy planning blog and video ideas for the holidays, so I rewarded myself with this new chain-detail tote bag to carry my laptop around in. It reminds me of some high-end designer styles, but with an under-$100 price tag. It’s a stylish bag but inexpensive enough I won’t feel nervous to carry it while working, traveling, or running errands.

Is it crazy I’m thinking of working from a coffee shop tomorrow just so I can carry it?!
