We’re finally feeling a bit of spring in the air here in Denver. There have been a few days when I’ve been able to open our windows, and I’ve been enjoying adding fresh flower bouquets to our countertops and tables. I’ve been on the lookout for a new spring fragrance and I think I’ve finally found a favorite.
And while we’re chatting about new spring things, can we talk about this beautiful floral skirt from W by Worth?! It’s one of the pieces I chose when I went for my spring styling session with W by Worth here in Denver. I love the effortless, flowy fabric and the way it feels just a little boho when I paired it with this off-shoulder top. I also like the idea of pairing it with a fitted off-shoulder tee like my favorite from W by Worth to balance the volume of the skirt. With vacations, weddings, and Easter coming up I know this feminine skirt is one I’ll be reaching for often. It can be paired with a sweater or jacket and heels or even a tank and flats for daytime.
Fit Details: Top fits true to size. Go one size down from your usual in the skirt.
In January I spent a week in Tucson, Arizona. If you look back through my Travel Posts, you’ll notice that it’s one of my favorite places in the U.S. because of the breathtaking desert views, endless sunshine, and stunning sunsets that paint the Arizona sky shades of orange, purple, and pink. If you haven’t been, I highly suggest going. It’s a place I find to be incredibly spiritual, peaceful, and relaxing. Whenever I leave, I find myself feeling rejuvenated and at peace. Take a look at my Tucson Day Guide; my curated itinerary for a day spent in Tucson.

This is the last of my spring looks we shot in Arizona. It was such a perfect trip because I felt so inspired by the warmth of the sun and the serene desert settings and I was able to create some really beautiful spring looks. I think any of these outfits would be great for spring break trips and vacations. I’m currently working on a big Arizona Round-Up post that will combine all of these looks in one easy-to-shop post.
This beautiful dress runs true to size. My favorite features are the smocked top that lifts and supports without the need of a bra, and the high-quality flowing fabric with liner that makes it appropriate for beach-to-dinner wear at a resort. I would add tropical statement earrings for an evening look.
We captured this beautiful dress while we were in Arizona. Something about the gorgeous teal color and the soft silk material lent itself perfectly to the colors and textures in the desert sunset. The dress makes such a statement, it can be paired with the simplest of accessories and still look incredible.
Fit Details: Order up one size as this dress runs a bit small.
I’ve had a great relationship with the Borsheims jewelry company my entire life. I hope you take a minute to read my last post detailing my personal connection with their brand; it includes countless family memories, college breakups, and even my own proposal story. I’ve had such a wonderful experience with Borsheims and I am so thankful they’re willing to gift one of my readers this rose gold infinity necklace so you can experience their beautiful jewelry as well.
Enter the giveaway through the widget down below. You can get a different amount of entries, depending on which and how many entry methods you complete. Be sure to take a look at my @brittanypillard Instagram account as I will be adding an extra way to gain entries there. The more entries you have, the better your chance of winning. Wishing you all the best of luck! I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Growing up, I would often hear my mother talk about a jewelry store she loved called Borsheims. She would mention their attention to detail, exceptional customer service, and giant space full of jewels. Borsheims also happens to be where my father purchased my mother’s wedding ring and occasional gifts, so it is a name I associated with special celebrations in our home.
Flash forward to my freshman year at Creighton University when I was a fashion-obsessed girl studying Psychology and Legal Studies in Omaha, Nebraska. I still remember the first time I walked into the Borsheims store; I can feel how special I felt when the sales associates smiled at me and gently guided me around the glittering cases. My sorority sweatshirt was no doubt a dead giveaway that I didn’t have any money to spend, but they never treated me any differently than their best customers. That kindness and attention is something that stuck with me for years to come. Sometimes after a bad breakup or a particularly rough final exam, I would find myself driving toward Borsheims. I would hide my puffy eyes with sunglasses and soothe my wounds with a hot tea as I gazed at their beautiful jewelry.
After I began working, I returned to Borsheims to buy gifts for my friends’ weddings and birthdays. And occasionally, I would even reward myself by adding a small piece of jewelry to my collection. I think that’s probably what I love most about Borsheims; the fact they have something for almost any budget and price point. If you’re shopping for a Valentine’s Day or anniversary gift, I highly suggest their curated love collection. With many pieces under $200, you’re sure to find something really special.
I recently added the beautiful gold necklace I’m wearing in these photos to my collection. It’s from Borsheims Roberto Coin collection and it’s called the Medium Princess Flower Pendant. The chain is so beautifully crafted, it sparkles in the sunlight. And the flower petals are so perfectly polished that they appear almost mirror-like. If you’re looking to add a “forever piece” to your collection, I love this necklace as an option because it adds a luxe, chic feel to everything I’ve paired it with; even the most simple white blouse or black dress become something really special when I wear this necklace.
My sweet husband proposed to me with a ring from Borsheims and I will never forget that day. Since then, we’ve added two sparkly bands on either side of the ring and we are currently celebrating our two year anniversary this week. Borsheims has played a major role in my life and our love story and I hope you will fall in love with them just as much as I have.
Stay tuned this weekend… Because a very special Valentine’s Day giveaway is coming your way, courtesy of Borsheims. I can’t wait to share the Borsheims brand with all of you, and whoever wins will be a lucky girl indeed!
Can I just say I think we should probably call this a one-shoulder gypsy top instead of a peasant top? All jokes aside, I love this outfit. It was one of the easiest and most effortless early Spring looks we captured while in Arizona.
And speaking of effortless, sometimes it can be the most important factor when it comes to fashion. If you’re short on time or packing for a vacation, it makes getting dressed really easy. And if the rest of your life is less-than-effortless (who’s isn’t?!) it will be one thing you can check off your list and not worry about.
This week my site crashed, my LIKEtoKNOW.it stopped working, and we had to push back a photo shoot. The saying “when it rains, it pours” really seems true sometimes, doesn’t it?! Trust me, effortless has been a key word with regard to my outfits this week.
Looking forward to showing you more spring looks from Arizona this week, as well as some fun Valentine’s Day content coming soon!
Fit Details: Go down a size in the top. Skirt runs true to size.
This is one of those outfits I find myself wearing all the time; it’s just so effortless. Whether I’m wearing it to explore the Arizona desert, while traveling, or just running to lunch with a friend I always feel comfortable and stylish in it.
Fit Details: This tunic runs true to size. I think it looks nice when it’s loose and flowy. The jeans run true to size as well; they do stretch, so order a size down if you’re in between size measurements. Boots run true to size; ignore the “narrow calf” warning because I prefer wide calf boots and these fit me perfectly.
Have you ever worn a piece of clothing that transports you? Sounds a bit dramatic, I know, but when I put on this dress I felt as if I were walking down a street to a beachside dinner in Mexico or on my way to spend the night dancing in Spain. There’s something so romantic about the lace details and billowy sleeves; it’s the perfect blend of sexy and playful.
And can I tell you how happy I am this darling little clutch is back in stock?! Because you need one in your wardrobe this spring and summer. Even if we’re not dining in Mexico or dancing in Spain; we can grab our little pom-pom clutches as we head out the door and pretend.
Here’s to dresses that tell a story and darling little bags that spark conversation.
I was immediately drawn to this dress because of the Grecian vibe; the draping and rope detail make this dress feel so romantic and dreamy. I think it would be perfect for any festivals or concerts you’re attending this spring. Be quick about ordering; it’s selling out quickly!
I have to tell you a funny story about these photos. My photographer and I were in the mountains near Tucson, Arizona and we spotted a flat spot high above us that provided a perfect view of the sunset over Tucson. Being Colorado girls, we weren’t afraid of climbing, so we set off to hike up with all the clothes and bags and shoes for the shoot in our arms.
Once at the top, we realized we had found the perfect place. We could see for miles as the sun slowly set and the city sparkled below us. I found a cactus perfectly sized for hanging clothes and I ended up changing looks right there on top of the mountain.
I know sometimes as bloggers we project this really polished and put-together image, but there are other times during a shoot when I look around and wish I could take you, my readers, with me because I know you would be laughing right alongside me! One of those times was right there on that mountain as I changed down to my underthings between looks with my clothes hanging beside me from the cactus. Trust me, it was anything but glamorous. The entire time I just hoped I wouldn’t lose my balance while changing in and out of shoes; I could envision myself falling right over onto a cactus. My photographer and I started laughing and she told me I had to include the story in my blog post. So here it is, along with a reminder to smile often and laugh a little more; it makes life so much more fun.
