Hi, darlings! I’ve mentioned here before that I adore all things vintage… Vintage fashion, vintage furniture, and vintage jewelry all give my heart a little thrill that modern things just can’t. Lately I’ve had a little fascination with vintage ring boxes and I wanted to share it with you because I think you’ll love them as much as I do!
These pretty little keepsake boxes look so dainty sitting out on a dresser and are made to store special rings or a wedding set. I love the charming feel they give to my decor.
I got this particular one from this shop on Etsy, but as these are vintage they’re often one-of-a-kind and you’ll only find them in certain antique shops or collected by various Etsy sellers. Mine is a celluloid ring box from the 1950’s, but I also love the satin ring boxes like this one from the 1930’s and velvet ring boxes like this one from the 1910’s.
I recently organized my jewelry in the new closet. I wish I could show you more of it, but it’s still not finished. I ended up returning the curtain rods I ordered and I recently found out the tweed fabric we ordered to reupholster my little pink chair (you may have seen it here before) would take twelve weeks to arrive. So… With that being said, I think it will be a bit longer before I can show you a complete reveal. But I think when it’s done it’s going to be perfectly classic and feminine.
In the meantime, take a look at the darling little vintage ring boxes I found below. Click the arrows to browse through the items and if you see one you like, simply click on the photo to shop. If you end up getting one, let me know how you style it or display it… I’d love to see!
Dreamy, airy sundresses are the perfect way to finish out the summer. They’re feminine yet playful and they look great layered with light sweaters and denim jackets. This one’s particularly wonderful because it’s on sale and has two handy little pockets to carry your phone or a lipgloss. It also comes in a short-sleeve version.
These pointy flats were one of my favorite summer discoveries. They came in the prettiest packaging and are made with the softest grey suede. I thought they would partner perfectly with my grey tote… And they do!! But when I went to write this post, I discovered something even more special about these dainty little flats.
I had purchased mine from Nordstrom, but as they’re sold out (I swear, it happens to me so often!) I had to go searching to find them. And lo and behold, there is an entire website behind these shoes! A website where you can design your own custom pair down to the color and material on the strap! And isn’t that exactly what every shoe lover like us wants?! So… If you want to design your own pair, visit this website. You can thank me later.
Here’s to hot sunny days, chilled glasses of wine, and thumbing through our summer reads in the hammock. Happy August, darlings!
In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is underway and will end in just a few days, on August 8th. People look forward to this sale each year because it is the only sale of its kind that offers new fall items at discounted prices before they return to regular retail pricing. It’s a great time to stock up on basics and essentials before the new season starts. And I like to utilize the sale to get a head start on my holiday shopping so I don’t feel overwhelmed come November/December.
Above you’ll find my favorite items from the beauty section of the sale… Nourishing skincare products, wearable makeup, and even gifts to keep on hand for your girlfriends and female family members. If you know someone who loves pampering their skin and is always on the lookout for the newest beauty product, I can promise you she’ll be thrilled to receive any of the above items.
This sale is huge and can often feel overwhelming at first sight. I’ve done the legwork for you and have curated posts featuring all my favorites so you don’t have to spend hours searching for the best items. You can find an overall selection of my #NSale favorites in this blog post. And if you’re shopping on a budget, I’ve also gathered my favorites under $100 for you in a blog post here.
Have you shopped the #NSale yet?? What did you get??
These airy, embroidered tops have been my go-to for beating Denver’s summer heat while still looking cute. They look great with flared denim and a chunky-heeled shoe. I love tucking the front in and adding a rope belt for a more polished look that still brings to mind the look and feel of the 70’s.
These tops are really versatile and can easily be layered with denim jackets, moto jackets, and scarves as we transition into the fall season. I’ve linked some versions I love down below… Just click the arrows on either side of the photo slide to browse and when you see something you like, click to shop.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend… Wishing you a great week!!
I love how the soft colors of this outfit play off one another… Crisp white, soft gray, and touches of black. The textures of the silky top and linen pants create a really luxe palette. It’s the perfect outfit to create a chic look for summer vacations, daytime events, and even casual date nights.
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is my favorite of the year because I can get fall items at majorly discounted prices. I even use this sale to begin my Christmas shopping! I went through nearly a hundred pages of items to gather together my favorite items and categorize them for you in my first #NSale blog post this year: Nordstrom Early Access Favorites.
The sale is currently only open to Nordstrom card holders (you can sign up in minutes here) but the sale will open up to the public July 22nd – August 7th. However, items are already selling out so if you have your eye on something special, don’t hesitate! (I’m already regretting waiting a little too long on these spotted lace-up flats and now they’re out of my shoe size!)
I wanted to go through and gather my favorite #NSale items under $100 in an easy-to-shop collage format. I know the pages and pages of the sale can be really overwhelming, but I’ve done the legwork for you and linked my favorites above underneath the collage. I love a high-low mix when I style my outfits and am always on the lookout for inexpensive-yet-beautiful items and the pieces I’ve included in this post will mix-and-match easily with classic investment pieces from your closet to create a luxe look.
Keep your eye out for more Instagram and blog posts from me featuring #NSale items in the next few weeks!
Summer is in full swing and in terms of style right now, I’m looking for inexpensive summer pieces to finish out the summer and mix with my investment pieces for a more luxe look. Backyard barbecue, anyone?!
We’ve been spending lots of time at the ranch this summer… It feels like our own private retreat, just a short drive away. The past few weeks have been full of cattle roundups, paddle boarding on local lakes, and barbecues with family friends. And speaking of barbecues, this outfit is one I’ve had on repeat for summer events.
If you’re shopping the dress I’m wearing, don’t hesitate… They’re selling out quickly. And the site is currently running a Mid-Summer Sale with an extra 15% off orders over $100 with code SS15. The dress runs pretty true to size, but if you’re between sizes I’d suggest going up a size because the style is airy and flowy and will look even cuter when it’s a bit loose.
Callanan Hats gave me a choice of their summer line and I chose this classic Safari Hat to pair with this look. I was intrigued by the fact the hat line was started by a former movie costume designer. And being designed by someone with a skilled eye for detail, it’s no surprise the hat is so well-made and beautiful. I think my favorite feature is the striped band… It gives the hat such a crisp feel.
Please be sure to check out my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites with details on how to get new fall fashion on sale before items go back to their regular prices. We shopped the sale in store and I just did another round of online shopping from here at the ranch… I can’t believe how quickly items are selling out!! Have you gotten anything from the sale yet?
It’s that time of year!! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is on, and shoppers can get sale prices on brand new fall items that will go back up to regular pricing after the sale ends. I use the sale to get a head start on my fall pieces… And I always start Christmas shopping during this sale!! Literally Christmas in July… But I tuck it away, and it prevents me from feeling swamped during the holidays.
July 14th – July 21st is early access for Nordstrom cardholders only. If you don’t have a Nordstrom debit or credit card sign up here and get early access to sales, invites to exclusive events, and earn points toward cash back on purchases. I have the debit card and loves that it pulls directly from my checking… No payments, no hassle.
July 22nd – August 7th the sale will open to the public. Trust me, items will sell out… So if you have your eye on something, don’t wait too long!!
I’ve looked through every. single. page of the sale and I’ve gathered my favorites picks based on style and value for you down below. Click the arrows on either side of a photo slide to browse and if you see something you like, simply click on the photo to shop.
Since I last posted, I visited family in Wyoming… Visited family in South Dakota… Learned to paddle board… And celebrated with friends at their beautiful wedding in Vail, Colorado. Summers for us are always busy, busy, busy and I love it, but also find myself craving the quiet moments just sipping iced tea in the backyard with our dogs running around. I know I get frustrated when my favorite bloggers miss a few posts and I want you to know I so appreciate being able to spend a little more time with family + friends and am thankful you return to check for my latest posts even when it’s been a week!!
Speaking of getting back into the swing of things, I’ve been wanting to do a post like this for a long time now. I love the “What’s In My Bag” features in magazines and find something oddly satisfying about taking a peek into the essentials someone carries around with them. (Not to mention I usually end up discovering a few items I want to add to my own bag.) But I haven’t seen many posts or features on work/computer bags, so I’ve decided to share my picks and essentials with you.
This crisp white tote is my current computer bag and I almost always have it near me, whether I’m traveling or doing work at a local coffee shop. It’s the first tote bag I’ve ever seen with this kind of organization and storage inside, one of my favorite parts being the handy holder for coffee mugs or water bottles that snaps into the side of the bag. No more spilled water on the bottom of your bag! And it easily fits all my electronics – laptop, tablet, and phone – keeping them organized and within reach.
Office Supplies
I swear by using a paper agenda… I find it more reliable than electronic calendars and I have to admit, I feel more productive when I cross things off. I’m also a bit of an office supply addict (hello, Target One Spot) and I like to keep my bag stocked with highlighters and sticky notes for when I’m planning out my schedule and to-do’s.
I keep a envelope-style folder to hold any current documents I’m working on or need to sign. It keeps me organized and looks presentable if I need to bring something with me to a meeting.
I recently downloaded the app Genius Sign and I consider it an essential to have in your phone… It allows you to scan, sign, and annotate PDF documents easily from your phone. I just began using it and I’ve already saved myself hours with this handy app.
Electronics
Besides the usual suspects like my laptop and an extra USB stick, I’ve recently become addicted to keeping this slim external battery handy… It really is a lifesaver and can charge up any of my devices while on the go.
While I’m working I like to listen to Spotify or Pandora and these super-sleek wireless earbuds from Sudio make it easy for me to move around and get up to grab a coffee without getting tangled up in cords.
I’ve slowly become addicted to this pretty rose gold phone case that lights up like a miniature vanity and provides the most glowy, pretty selfies and Snapchats. If you’re into Instagram and Snapchat, this phone case will majorly improve your selfie game.
One thing I’ve become a little obsessive about is keeping my electronics clean, especially when I frequent coffee shops and cafes to work. These electronic wipes come in individual packets, so they’re easy to throw in my bag and go. And the hand sanitizers from Bath & Body Works are the best… They smell great and feel really clean without any sticky texture. Even my husband asks me to stock them in his car!
Cosmetics
I always have a little stash of beauty products in my computer bag… I don’t like to be out and about without them! I love getting blowouts at Dry Bar so there’s usually a Dry Bar gift card floating around… My hair has so much volume and bounce after one of their blowouts I can go days without washing it, convincing myself I’m saving time by getting them! And when I need to tie my hair back, I use one of these hair bands to secure my hair on top of my head without pulling it.

Both of these Maggy London dresses are currently 30% off… As are all styles on MaggyLondon.com now through July 4th. This is the perfect time to grab a gorgeous dress at a great price for your upcoming summer events. Maggy London reached out to me and allowed me to choose two dresses for the events we have coming up and I’ve styled each one a bit differently…
I initially noticed the texture and gorgeous coral-red color of this dress, but what really sold me is the beautiful tailoring. The ‘v’ neckline and the lines along the waist and top of the hips create the most flattering, feminine silhouette. The dress really creates flattering curves on the body that make it into such a statement piece.
I styled this dress for an outdoor summer wedding with pops of white in my bracelet and clutch. I love the texture and summery vibe a straw clutch adds… Mine is a Lilly Pulitzer from years ago, but I found a similar one here. When attending outdoor events, I usually try to wear wedges if possible. They elongate the leg, don’t sink into the grass, and I can dance in them all night long. Gold version of my wedges (I have them also) here but take a peek at the nude pair I’m currently eyeing here.
I have an event with Denver’s new Kendra Scott shop coming up, and I think this dress would be perfect for it. If you’re in Denver Thursday, July 14th from 5-7 pm I’d love for you to come say hello and have a drink and a sweet treat with me!! The event details can be found on my Facebook page.
The sophisticated navy blue color and illusion neckline of this dress sold me immediately. I knew right away it would be elegant and feminine with its subtle floral pattern and flattering high-low hemline.
It’s such a dreamy dress and I felt like a princess while wearing it. I wanted to keep the focus on the color and texture in the dress, so I styled this with my go-to nude clutch and a pair of nude strappy heels. I added my new pearl and rose gold spike earrings that lend the most wonderful mix of ladylike edge to an outfit.
